N8 at Barber on his SMW HP2S.

Nate Kern has established himself as one of the most promising racers of his time. He had only ridden on the track a few times before his March 2002 debut at Daytona Int’l Speedway where he won 8 of 8 races and was immediately moved to pro status.

He continued his winning ways with 2 victories during his first race weekend as a regional pro! The 2002 season rounded out with 38 podium finishes of 42 races and 3rd place overall in the CCS Mid Atlantic Championship.

In 2003 he was invited to race in the FIM BMW Motorrad Boxer Cup at Daytona where he qualified 42nd and finished 20th, making up the most positions in the race.

2003 ended with 2nd overall in WERA lightweight twins and won a WERA Formula 1 Championship.

2004 proved to be even more exciting when he received the honor of an invitation to compete a full season in the prestigious FIM Int’l BMW Motorrad Boxer Cup. There he had the opportunity to learn a great deal on and off the track, competing against high-caliber riders from around the world.

Returning to the States, Nate chose the underrated BMW R1100S Boxer Cup bike to race during the 2005 season. With 123 races in the CCS Mid Atlantic and Southeast Championships, 50% podiums were achieved, 94% top ten finishes, and 23 wins. Nine class Championships were achieved and as overall Champion in the CCS Mid Atlantic and Southeast regions, Nate walked away with his first #1 plate.

X Pattern- Kushitani X Pattern is way ahead of any other suit manufactured. It's a Kushitani original design that has been patented (Pat:905216). For the 1993 racing season the kushitani contracted rider tested the X-pattern suits with the outcome being a total success. We have modified this design several times over the years each file with the riders comfort and safety in mind. We now use Zylon Knit throughout the inner thigh area, giving even more movement and ventilation.

Punched mesh-Kushitani suits are punched mesh for maximum airflow and minimum body exhaustion. Punched mesh and punched mesh shirring are also a Kushitanipatent.(Pat:1810469 and 1810470) It has secured safe ease of movement, comfortable and gives great ventilation. The debut of Kushitani's punched mesh suits were at the grueling SUZUKA 8 HOUR endurance race in Japan.

ZYLON has excellent performance, in such properties as creep, chemical resistance, cut/abrasion resistance, and high temperature abrasion resistance, which far exceed all other fibers. It is 5 times stronger than carbon fiber, and 7 times stronger than Kevlar.

Kushitani Leather-all of our racing suits are model from Holstein leather which comes from cows bred in Japan specifically for kushitani. That's how we get the leather so smooth and supple yet EXTREMELY strong. All the" bad section" of the hide are out off and only the best parts are used to make that important racing suit, In fact only about 60% of hide is used to from 1 1/2 Japanese cows

K-Foam
The main purpose of a leather suit is to add high protection to your body. K-Foam is a shock absorbent material developed by Kushitani, which is made by special acrylic emulsion. It has memory, which gives 100% restoration, is durable and molds to your body shape through the natural body temperature. The shock absorbing foam is built into vital body sections of the suits including the shoulders, elbows and hip areas.
